Benefits of Grooming

The main reasons for grooming include:

  • decreased chance of various health problems
  • other skin problems and make the pet look pretty
  • general cleanliness of the pet
  • monitoring of the pet’s health by checking for cuts, heat, swelling, lameness
  • changes in temperament,  which could be indicative of illness
  • forging of a closer bond with pet
  • reducing infestation load of external parasites on skin.

Health issue examples:

At Shari’s Pampered Pets we are not just concerned with your pets looks,

we are more concerned with their health.

Regular grooming can help prevent health problems/issues.

Also if your pet is groomed on a regular basis, the groomer may notice

if there is a change with your pet or something abnormal is going on.

So it is always a good idea to have your pet groomed on a regular basis.

Remember to check your pet regularly for these issues, if you are unable to get to the groomers as often as you would like.

  • Ear Infections

Most ear infections in adults are caused by bacteria and yeast, though ear mites are a common cause in puppies.

  • Ingrown Toenails

The best way to prevent ingrown toenails is to trim your pet’s nails regularly. Count on us to do the job for you.

  • Abscess from sticker/thorn

An abscess is considered a collection of pus under the skin that in animals can be caused by a cat/dog fight or something as simple as a thorn in the paw.

  • Weight loss

Weight loss diets for dogs generally have less fat, fewer calories, and more fiber than regular diets.

  • Infections/ Puss drainage

An abscess is a localized buildup of pus that occurs in a dog or cat when bacteria penetrate tissue — usually as a result of a fight or minor injury.
